Many people at each year's end aspire to make a change in their lives, whether it's to lose weight or maybe make a life change. As you are walking in the will of God, what changes does He want you to make in your life? Sure, there's nothing wrong with a personal goal or a challenge. But it amounts to nothing in the eyes of God if you are not in Daily relationship with him. I've seen over the years in my own life what happens when I don't stay connected and I don't have daily communication with him. Let's go over some of the things that happen when you're not in Daily communication with God.

After years of losing my focus on relationships and other pursuits, I gained perspective only when I was earnestly seeking God and His will for my life. Over time, it became an unshakable perspective that even the enemy couldn't take away, though day after day he still trys to.

After I had lost my confidence, it was easier for the enemy to attack and get me at my weak points. Since I wasn't focused on God and His plan for my life, I became increasingly more focused on doubt, sorrow, confusion, and depression.

After all of the above, it was no wonder why I would start doubting if God was even working at all, though I knew He was. Remember one thing, and that is the enemy does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus has come so you may have life and that you may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

I enjoy breaking apart a passage of scripture, so let's dig in to this verse. The enemy does not come EXCEPT to steal kill destroy, meaning nothing else matters enough until it's ANYTHING that robs you of what God has for you, kills your spirit, or destroys you completely. So you weren't a threat to the enemy before you believed, but when you knew you were one of God's, he most likely started attacking at that point in your life.

Most likely you didn't know you needed help until you were at such a low point in your life, and praise the Lord that God has revealed that to you! No one desires after God of their own strength. (Romans 3:11) But when you came to the realization that you needed help, the enemy started paying attention to you.

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

I Corinthians 10:13

Nothing is taking your life away from you that no one else is experiencing, but the things you are being tempted to do that you know are wrong are nothing compared to the tools God has given you to overcome that temptation! You who have been called to the will of God have all the necessary tools to overcome the enemy. This is why we celebrate the victory we have in Jesus, otherwise we would have no victory and would be helpless to the weight of all our sin.

Whatever you aspire to do this year, commit yourself to staying connected with The Lord and doing His will. You as children of God will know exactly what that is the more you seek Him earnestly and without alterior motive other than to genuinely see what it is He wants you to do. The spirit is your helper, and will guide you on the right path. Stay strong and let perseverance have its full work so you may be complete and lacking nothing." (James 1:4)
