"You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is good for you. You say, "I am allowed to do anything"--but not everything is beneficial."

1 Corinthians 10:23

Being a Christian for just about 20 years, what grows increasingly evident over time is the sin that tries to creep up in my daily routine. Another thing that grows increasingly evident is what I used to not consider sin, and how paying close attention to scripture has enabled me to have a clearer view on what I really should not be doing that I thought was okay at an earlier point in my life.

CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?

Ever stop and wonder maybe some of the things in your daily walk that you've been doing for years might not be the best thing for you, considering the bible gives a clear definition as to what to stay away from because it's considered sin? Well most likely, if you're asking if something is okay or Not, then most likely it isn't!

"DON'T JUDGE ME!"

Oh no... I'm not judging you. That was not a judgement. Judgement is saying you'll never be good enough for heaven... or God will never forgive you for the sins you've committed. I just now plainly passed a judgement that was not mine to give. As Christians, we have to understand the difference between judging someone and telling someone what they're doing is wrong.

"BUT THE LAW SAYS IT'S OKAY!"

In our day and age where laws are constantly changing, what remains the same throughout the ages is the word of God. What must also stay the same is the Christian's commitment to please God with everything they have. Even though the law may allow what you may think is OKAY, it does NOT make it good for you or edifying to The Lord.

 ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountability is simply calling someone out for doing something that would displease God... and should also hurt your heart as well. In our fleshy bodies, we have those fleshly desires, and at times we get distracted as Christians. Accountability is important for any and every church body... but the question is are you willing to receive it?

DON'T RELY ON SOMEONE ELSE TO CALL YOU OUT

If you know you did something but your accountability partner isn't keeping you accountable, it's not right to blame your sin on their lack of communication with you. The best thing you can do after you do something wrong is to IMMEDIATELY tell in yourself to your accountability partner. Again, it is NOT their job to keep you right before God.

ALL IN THE HEART

The question is, when no one else is around, do you love God enough to please Him at all costs? Do what it takes to flee from sin, because the devil will not flee from you unless you RESIST him!

"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

James 4:7

SUBMIT TO GOD

In order to effectively RESIST the devil, you MUST SUBMIT to God. Give Him your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and watch what He does in your life! The grass is greener where you water it. Don't rely on scenery change to change the environment and state of your heart, because you will be disappointed. God is the answer to your problems, so now what is your question?
